This small electric actuator is essential for vehicles that use a hidden or protected washer nozzle/cover system. Its job is to move the washer door or flap at the right moment, so the spray path is clear and the washer system works cleanly in all weather.
Why this part is needed
Modern front-end designs often hide washer outlets behind a cover to reduce dirt buildup and improve aerodynamics. The actuator opens/positions the cover when you command washer spray, then returns it to the resting position to keep the nozzle area sealed.
How it works
When the washer switch is activated, the control signal powers a compact motor and gear set inside the actuator. That motion drives a linkage to:
- open the washer door/cover smoothly
- hold position during spray
- close back to prevent grime and water intrusion
