OEM-Grade A/C Cooler Pressure Switch โ„๏ธ

This precision switch safeguards and controls your air conditioning system so the cabin stays cold and the compressor lives long. Itโ€™s needed to monitor refrigerant pressure and tell the ECU or relay when to engage or cut the compressor clutch. That protects the system from low charge (starvation) and dangerous high pressure, while keeping vent temps stable and fuel use efficient.

How it works ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

Mounted on the refrigerant line, a sealed diaphragm reacts to system pressure. At set thresholds, internal contacts open or close: low-pressure cutout prevents clutch engagement when gas is low; high-pressure cutout shuts the compressor during heat load or airflow issues. On some setups, the switch also requests condenser fan operation, balancing cooling and safety.

What happens if it fails โš ๏ธ

- Blows warm air; compressor wonโ€™t engage.
- Intermittent cooling; rapid cycling.
- Compressor overwork or lockout; possible clutch damage.
- ECU A/C faults; poor idle control; higher fuel use.

Tech tip

Always evacuate refrigerant before replacement, renew O-ring, torque to spec, and verify pressures after re-gas.
