Why you need it 🔧
Clear vision in rain or snow is safety critical. A healthy wiper switch lets you select MIST, INT (variable), LOW, HIGH, and activate the washer pump on demand. It prevents guesswork and keeps blades moving at the right speed.
How it works ⚙️
Inside the stalk are copper contacts and a detent cam. When you turn or push/pull the lever, it sends clean signals to the wiper relay, intermittent module, and washer pump. The rheostat adjusts delay time for intermittent wiping.
If it’s broken ⚠️
Common faults include no wipe, only one speed, random self‑wiping, no washer, or blown fuses from shorted contacts. Driving in rain becomes risky, blades can stall mid‑sweep, and motors may overheat due to wrong commands.
