This dashboard-mounted electrical switch unit is the heart of your start-up routine . It is needed to safely control key positions (ACC/ON/START) and send the correct power signal to the starter circuit and engine electronics. When you turn the key, internal copper contacts bridge specific terminals, feeding voltage to accessories, ignition system, and the starter relay in the correct order. This prevents random power spikes and ensures smooth, repeatable cranking.
How It Works
Inside the switch, spring-loaded contacts rotate with the key cylinder and create clean electrical paths. In the START position, it momentarily energizes the starter relay/solenoid; once released, it returns to ON to keep the engine running.
Signs It’s Failing
