How It Works ⚙️
Inside the housing, a flat ribbon cable is wound in a spiral track. As the steering wheel rotates, the ribbon smoothly rolls and unrolls, keeping constant contact without stretching. This design gives reliable signal transfer for the airbag circuit and other steering wheel controls.
When It Fails ?
If the spiral cable breaks or wears, you may see an airbag warning light, horn not working, cruise/audio buttons failing, or intermittent steering wheel controls. In severe cases, the driver airbag may not deploy in a crash—so replacement should not be delayed.
