This precision spiral cable keeps vital wheel functions alive while you turn. It maintains a safe, flexible link between the fixed column harness and rotating wheel circuits, powering the airbag, horn, audio, phone, and cruise switches. The integrated steering angle sensor sends exact wheel position to ABS, VSC/ESP, and electric power steering for stable, predictable handling.
Why you need it
For safety and comfort features to work every drive. Without a healthy spiral cable and angle signal, the car cannot reliably deploy the airbag, read wheel angle, or run steering assist correctly.
How it works
A flat ribbon conductor winds inside a round cassette. As you steer, it coils and uncoils without strain. The built-in sensor (optical or magnetic) tracks rotation and reports zero point and angle to control units in real time.
What happens if it’s broken
Airbag light on, horn silent, wheel buttons dead, VSC/traction warning, uneven assist, and poor lane/park aid performance. You may hear clicks inside the wheel. Driving with a failed unit risks no airbag deployment and unstable dynamics. ⚠️
