Steering Wheel Spiral Cable (Clock Spring)

Keep your steering controls and SRS active with this direct-fit spiral cable assembly. It links the wheel to the vehicle harness, carrying signals for airbag, horn, audio, and cruise while you turn. Built with heat-stable ribbon conductors and tight-lock connectors, it provides durable, quiet operation in tough cabin temperatures.

Why this part is needed

When the clock spring ages or snaps, you lose critical functions. Replacing it restores airbag readiness, brings back horn and buttons, and clears warning lights for inspection and safety.

How it works

Inside the round housing is a flat copper ribbon that coils and uncoils as you steer. This design keeps consistent electrical paths without twisting wires. Factory center marks ensure the neutral position, preventing over-travel and breakage.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

  • Airbag light on; squib/spiral circuit fault stored
  • Horn inoperative or intermittent
  • Audio/cruise/phone keys dead
  • Scratching noise or tight spot while turning

Tech tips

Disconnect battery 10–15 minutes before service. Lock wheel straight, transfer angle sensor if equipped, and never spin the new unit. Center to index marks, route wiring cleanly, and torque steering wheel to spec.
