Headlamp Dimmer & Indicator Column Switch for Toyota
This steering-column stalk is the main control for low/high beams, flash-to-pass, and turn indicators. You need it to signal safely in traffic and to switch beams at night without taking hands off the wheel. A fresh unit restores crisp clicks, proper self-cancel after turns, and reliable lighting—vital for visibility and road-law compliance.
How it works ⚙️
Inside the lever, a cam moves spring-loaded contacts. Wiping copper/silver pads route power and signals to the lighting relay or body ECU. Pull for momentary flash, push for high beam latch, and lift/down for left/right signals. A cancel ring tied to the clock-spring resets the indicator after steering returns.
What if it fails ❗
Typical faults: no high beam, stuck beams, dead indicators, intermittent lights, or arcing/melted contacts. Driving risk rises at night, inspections can fail, and a stuck circuit may drain the battery. Replace at first signs of play, heat discoloration, or random flashing.
Fit & tips
Direct plug-in with OEM connectors. Disconnect battery, remove shroud, release tabs/screws, swap unit, verify cancel, and test all positions.
