Why this part is needed
This lever controls headlights, side/parking lights, high beam/flash, and turn signals. It keeps you visible at night, lets you signal safely, and meets road rules. How it works
The stalk rotates and moves to select modes; inside, copper contacts and a cam close dedicated circuits that command relays for low/high beam and indicators. A self-cancel mechanism, triggered by the steering wheel ring, returns the turn signal after a turn. The sealed housing and precise detents prevent arcing and misfires, while a multi-pin connector feeds the body harness.
What happens if it’s broken ⚠️
Symptoms include dead or flickering headlights, no high-beam flash, stuck high beams, fast or dead indicators, or a loose lever. Driving at night becomes unsafe, fuses can blow from shorts, inspections fail, and other switches can overheat from poor contact. Replace promptly to restore full lighting control.
Install tips
Disconnect battery, remove column shrouds, undo screws, unplug connector, swap unit, align cancel tab, and test all lights before refitting. Avoid bending pins and over-torquing screws.
