Engine Oil Pressure Switch Assembly ✅
This compact sensor-switch is a safety guard for your engine lubrication system. It is needed to monitor oil pressure and warn the driver early if pressure drops, helping prevent expensive internal engine damage.
How It Works
Inside the unit is a pressure-sensitive diaphragm and electrical contact. When oil pressure is within normal range, the contact changes state and the signal to the dash warning circuit stays correct. If oil pressure falls below the set point, the contact switches and triggers the oil warning light, letting you shut down before harm is done.
Why Replacing Matters ️
If this switch fails, it may cause a constant warning light, no warning at all, or intermittent flickering. A false alarm can hide real faults, while no warning can lead to running an engine with low oil pressure—risking bearing wear, overheating, knocking, and even seizure.
