Rear Door Check Strap Link for Nissan SUVs
This door stay limiter controls the swing of the rear side door, holding it in set positions and stopping over-travel. Built to OE geometry, it restores a quiet, solid feel, protects hinges and paint, and keeps loading safer in wind or on slopes.
Why this part is needed ️
Daily use wears the pin, arm, and slipper surfaces. A fresh door check stops sudden swings, prevents dents on the quarter panel, and keeps the door open at useful detents for hands-free loading.
How it works
A hardened steel arm slides through a bracket with a spring-loaded shoe. As the door opens, the arm passes shaped ramps (detents). The shoe seats into these steps to hold the door half-open or fully. At the end of travel, the arm acts as a limiter so the door cannot overextend. Proper grease keeps it quiet.
What happens if it’s broken
Signs include loud popping, no “hold” position, stiff or free-swinging movement, and creaks. If it fails, the door can fling wide, bend hinges, stretch the wiring loom, chip edges, or slam shut unexpectedly—risking injury and costly body repairs.
Install notes
Direct bolt-on: two fasteners at the door and two at the pillar. Support the door, mark hinge positions, torque evenly, and apply lithium grease on the sliding face. Typical time: 15–25 minutes per side.
