Right Tailgate Lifter Assembly for Hyundai/Kia
This right-side tailgate lifter assembly is a small part with a big job: it supports and controls the opening and closing of your rear tailgate. You need it to keep the tailgate stable, prevent sudden drops, and make daily loading safer and easier.
How it works ⚙️
Inside the lifter is a sealed gas/oil pressure system that creates controlled force. When you lift the tailgate, the strut helps carry the weight and holds the gate open at the correct height. During closing, it provides smooth resistance so the tailgate doesn’t slam. The right-hand unit must match the left side’s strength to keep the tailgate aligned.
What happens if it’s worn or broken ❗
A weak lifter may not hold the tailgate up, especially in cold weather. You might notice slow dropping, uneven lifting, squeaks, or the gate sitting slightly twisted. If it fails полностью, the tailgate can fall suddenly, damaging hinges, glass, trim, or causing injury. Replacing a tired strut restores safe lift support and proper closing feel.
