How It Works ?
When you pull the inner handle, the cable’s steel core slides inside a protective sleeve. That movement transfers force directly to the latch lever, releasing the lock pawl so the door can swing open. The outer sheath stays fixed while the inner wire does the work, keeping operation smooth and controlled.
What Happens If It’s Broken ⚠️
A stretched or snapped cable can leave you stuck inside, force you to exit from another door, or make the handle “pull to nothing.” In worse cases, partial failure may cause intermittent opening, stressing the latch and handle mount, and increasing the risk of sudden total failure.
