Door Check Link for Nissan Z-Series

Keep your coupe’s door controlled and safe. This door check link (also called door stopper or check strap) holds the door in set detents, prevents over‑opening, and stops wind from slamming it. It protects hinges, fenders, wiring, and paint. Perfect OEM-style fit for the Z platform, built for daily use and spirited weekends.

Why you need it ️

Without a healthy check link, doors swing freely. That leads to dents on the edge, bent hinges, cracked A‑pillar mounts, and pinched loom. It also makes loading and parking on slopes risky.

How it works ⚙️

A hardened steel arm slides through a spring-loaded friction block inside a compact housing. The arm has detent bumps that hold the door slightly open and fully open. Bushings and a damped shoe control speed and noise. Zinc-coated brackets fight corrosion for long life.

What happens if it’s worn or broken ❗

  • Popping/creaking when opening
  • Door won’t stay open; shuts on your leg
  • Over‑travel hits the fender or mirror
  • Loose feel and misaligned hinges over time

Install tips

Bolt-on swap using factory holes. Support the door, remove inner trim, unbolt at pillar and door (10–12 mm heads), slide out, then reverse. Lightly grease the arm. Torque snug; use blue thread locker. No coding needed.
