Right-Side Curtain Airbag Unit ?️
This safety component is fitted along the roof line on the passenger side and is designed to protect heads in a side impact or rollover. It’s needed because door beams and seat belts can’t fully stop the sideways movement of the body—this air cushion fills the gap fast when milliseconds matter.
How It Works ⚡
When the crash sensors detect a qualified side collision or roll event, the control module triggers the inflator. The bag deploys downward like a curtain, covering the side glass area to reduce head injury risk and help prevent occupants from striking hard trim or being partially ejected.
If It’s Damaged or Faulty ?
A failed unit may set an SRS warning light, disable the protection on that side, or cause incorrect deployment behavior. Driving with a compromised airbag system can reduce crash protection and may fail safety inspection requirements.
Common Signs of Trouble ?
- SRS/Airbag light stays on
- Accident history with deployed side bags
- Roof/side trim repairs with disturbed wiring
