OEM-Grade Locking Hex Nut (38x10)
This locking nut is a small but critical fastener used where high vibration and repeated load can loosen normal nuts.
You need it to keep key suspension/driveline and chassis-mounted parts clamped with the correct pressure, so alignment,
handling, and safety stay consistent.
How It Works ⚙️
The nut uses a locking design that increases resistance to backing off after tightening. Once torqued to spec, it helps
maintain steady clamp force on the joint, preventing micro-movement that can wear bolts, holes, and mating surfaces.
It’s especially important on performance-oriented vehicles that see sharp acceleration, braking, and cornering.
What Happens If It’s Worn or Damaged ❗
A rounded, stretched, or seized nut can’t hold torque correctly. That can lead to loosened joints, clunks, vibration,
uneven tire wear, and in severe cases bolt failure or shifting components. Replacing it during service avoids comebacks
and protects the threads on the stud/bolt.
Technician Tip ️
Always start threads by hand, torque with a calibrated wrench, and replace any locking nut that feels “gritty” or no
longer holds torque consistently.
