A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor ❄️

Why you need it

This small HVAC sensor guards the evaporator from icing and keeps cabin cooling stable. By tracking core temperature, it tells the climate control when to cycle the compressor, so you get steady cold air, dry windows, and efficient fuel use—especially in hot traffic or humid weather. It’s a direct-fit solution for many Mitsubishi SUVs and pickups, restoring factory-grade comfort.

How it works

Inside is an NTC thermistor. As the evaporator gets colder, its resistance changes; the A/C amplifier reads that voltage signal and modulates compressor clutch and blower speed to hold the sweet spot just above freezing. This protects the core, maintains airflow, and keeps the cabin cool without overworking the system.

When faulty

Expect weak or erratic cooling, vents swinging cold-to-warm, foggy glass, reduced airflow from an iced core, or a compressor that rapid-cycles or won’t engage. You may log an HVAC fault and notice higher fuel use from inefficient A/C control.

Tech notes

OE-grade fit slides into the evaporator fins. Disconnect battery, release clip, swap the sensor, seat the probe fully, and check the connector for corrosion. Restores proper compressor command and prevents freeze-up. ✅
