Reliable A/C Refrigerant Pressure Switch for Mitsubishi

This air conditioning pressure switch is a small but critical sensor that helps your climate system stay cold, safe, and efficient ❄️. It is needed to monitor refrigerant pressure inside the A/C line and to protect the compressor from running in harmful conditions.

How it works

The switch reads pressure changes and sends an on/off (or signal) command to the A/C control unit. When pressure is within the correct range, it allows the compressor clutch to engage. If pressure is too low (leak/low charge) or too high (blocked condenser/overheat), it cuts compressor operation to prevent damage.

What happens when it fails

A faulty switch can cause intermittent cooling, A/C that won’t turn on, rapid compressor cycling, or a system that runs when it shouldn’t ⚠️. Ignoring it may lead to poor cabin comfort, increased fuel use, blown fuses, or expensive compressor failure due to lack of lubrication or excessive head pressure.

Common signs

  • A/C blows warm then cold randomly
  • Compressor clicks on/off too often
  • A/C shuts off in hot traffic
  • Error codes related to pressure signal
