Precision A/C Expansion Control Valve ❄️

This A/C metering valve is a key part of the air conditioning circuit. It is needed to control how much refrigerant enters the evaporator, so the cabin cools fast without freezing the coil. When the system load changes (hot day, high humidity, blower speed), this valve keeps pressures stable and cooling consistent.

How it works ?

The valve creates a calibrated restriction that drops refrigerant pressure before it reaches the evaporator. As the refrigerant expands, it becomes cold and absorbs heat from cabin air. By regulating flow, it prevents liquid flood-back to the compressor and helps maintain correct superheat for efficient operation.

When the valve fails ⚠️

A sticking or clogged valve can cause weak cooling, icing on the evaporator, fluctuating vent temperature, or high/low pressure readings out of range. In severe cases, the compressor may run hot, cycle abnormally, or suffer internal damage from poor lubrication and incorrect refrigerant flow.
