Why you need it
City dust, moisture, and pollen settle inside the ducts. Over time the A/C can smell, even with a new cabin filter. This module actively deodorizes the airflow, helping allergy relief and cleaner air on daily commutes and long trips.
How it works
Mounted near the blower, the unit draws air across a deodorizing element and ionizing stage. A small controller powers it only when the blower runs, managed by the HVAC ECU. The result is neutralized smells and fresher vents without hurting airflow.
What happens if it breaks
Expect persistent musty or sour odor, especially after rain or short drives ⚠️. The A/C still blows, but air quality drops and allergies may flare. In rare cases a shorted module can add noise or draw extra current.
Install and service tips
Access is usually behind the glove box. Unplug, release clips, swap the unit, and check the seal. Replace the cabin filter and run A/C on fresh air for 5 minutes to prime.
