Evaporator Temperature Sensor for Mitsubishi A/C ❄️

This A/C evaporator temperature sensor keeps your climate control smart and safe. It reads the cold coil temperature inside the HVAC box and guides the A/C amplifier to regulate compressor duty, stopping ice build-up while keeping cool air steady. Ideal for restoring factory cooling performance and protecting the compressor on Mitsubishi SUVs.

Why your SUV needs it

Accurate temperature feedback prevents evaporator freeze, improves fuel efficiency, stabilizes cabin comfort, and extends compressor life. A healthy sensor also reduces fogging and keeps airflow strong in hot or humid weather.

How it works ️

It’s a small NTC device: as the evaporator gets colder, resistance rises. The A/C control unit reads that signal and cycles the clutch or modulates compressor stroke to hold the core near optimal temperature, usually just above freezing, for crisp, dry air without icing.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Open circuit: compressor may be disabled, warm cabin, random short cycling. Shorted sensor: compressor overworks, coil ices, airflow drops, vents blow weak or misty, possible water drips and noisy fan. You may see erratic temperatures, stored fault codes, or premature compressor wear.

Tech notes & install tips ️

Located on or near the evaporator housing; usually a 2‑wire plug. Match connector shape, seat the probe fully, don’t bend the tip, and inspect harness for corrosion. After fitting, clear DTCs and verify readings with a scan tool.
