EVAP Charcoal Canister for Toyota Fuel Vapor Control 🚗
This fuel vapor storage unit is an important part of the EVAP emission system. It traps petrol fumes from the fuel tank before they escape into the air. A good canister helps keep fuel smell away, lowers emissions, and supports stable engine running.
Why This Part Is Needed
When fuel warms up, vapors build inside the tank. Instead of releasing them outside, the canister stores them in activated carbon. Later, the engine control system opens the purge valve and sends these vapors into the intake to be burned safely.
How It Works ⚙️
The canister works with the purge valve, vent valve, fuel tank, and ECU. It holds vapor when the vehicle is parked or running at low load. When conditions are correct, stored vapor is pulled into the engine, improving fuel efficiency and reducing harmful fumes.
Signs of a Broken Canister
If this part is cracked, clogged, or saturated, you may notice a strong fuel smell, hard refueling, poor idle, higher fuel use, or a check engine light. A faulty unit can also cause failed emission tests and pressure faults in the fuel system.
