How it works
OE-grade plastic moulding locks into metal tabs and uses pressure-fit clips plus automotive tape to sit flush. The lip channels water away from the tailgate seal, reducing drips and whistle at speed.
What happens if it’s broken
Expect fluttering noise, water tracking into the seam, stained paint, and possible clip damage. Over time, that leads to corrosion under the garnish, poor tailgate sealing, and visible misalignment.
Tech notes ?
Install dry, 20–25°C. Clean with isopropyl, test-fit, then press from center outward. Replace any bent clips; never reuse stretched tape. Compatible with roof rails and factory spoilers.
