Outer Upper Windshield Moulding Trim ?️
This upper exterior windshield trim seals and finishes the top edge of the glass where it meets the roof line. It is needed to keep rain, wind noise, and road dust from creeping into the windshield channel, and it also protects the urethane bond from sunlight that can weaken it over time.
How It Works ?
The moulding clips and/or seats into the windshield perimeter area, creating a tight barrier that guides water away and smooths airflow. By covering gaps and edges, it reduces whistling at speed and helps the glass sit clean with the body for a factory look.
When It’s Damaged ⚠️
A cracked, loose, or shrunken trim can cause wind hiss, water leaks, and trapped debris that scratches paint. Long-term exposure may let UV attack the adhesive, raising the risk of poor windshield retention and costly re-sealing during glass service.
