Rear Tailgate Lock Control Assembly
This rear door lock control unit is the key link between your tailgate handle/actuator and the locking mechanism. It is needed to keep the back door securely closed, prevent theft, and stop tailgate rattles on rough roads. A healthy lock control also helps the central locking system work smoothly, especially on heavy rear doors.
How It Works ⚙️
When you turn the key, pull the handle, or use the power lock signal, the internal levers and return springs guide the latch into lock or unlock position. It holds the latch tight against the striker, then releases it only when the correct command is given. This keeps closing effort normal and ensures the tailgate won’t pop open from vibration.
