Front Right Door Lock Remote Control Rod Assembly

This linkage rod sits inside the front right door and connects the lock actuator/remote control movement to the door latch. It is needed to make sure your key fob, inner lock knob, and handle commands are transferred cleanly to the latch mechanism. When everything is aligned, one small motion becomes a solid lock/unlock action—no delay, no missed clicks .

How It Works

The rod is a rigid, shaped metal link with clips that hold it in the correct position. When the actuator pulls or pushes, the rod moves in a straight path and turns the latch lever. This keeps the lock synchronized so the latch fully locks and fully unlocks every time.

Why Replacement Matters

If the rod bends, pops out of its clip, or wears at the ends, the latch may not travel far enough. You may hear the actuator working but the door stays locked, or it unlocks then re-locks. In worse cases, the outside handle feels normal but the door won’t open.

Common Symptoms of a Faulty Rod

  • Remote unlock works sometimes, not always
  • Manual lock knob feels loose or uneven
  • Door stuck locked or stuck unlocked
  • Rattling inside the door over bumps
