Right‑Hand Tailgate Lock Striker – OE‑grade rear hatch latch catch

This RH rear hatch striker is the fixed catch the lock jaws bite onto. It keeps the tailgate centered, sealed, and quiet, so your cargo area stays dry and the door doesn’t rattle on rough roads . Built for SUVs and compact hatches, it supports the latch under load and maintains proper body alignment for long service life.

Why you need it

A precise striker ensures secure locking, tight weatherseal compression, and correct panel gaps. It prevents wind noise, water ingress, and dash warnings from an “ajar” sensor. It’s essential for safety and comfort.

How it works

The latch closes over the striker’s loop/pin, centering the door via its tapered face. A durable steel base with a wear sleeve reduces metal‑to‑metal noise. Shims allow micro‑adjustment; bolts hold the setting.

When it’s bad ⚠️

Hard closing, bounce‑back, rattles, wet carpet, or a tailgate warning light. Misalignment can stress the glass, overwork the lock motor, and in severe cases let the hatch pop open over bumps.

Tech notes

Bolt‑on swap on the right side. Mark the old position, install, then fine‑tune in/out and up/down for smooth latching. Lightly grease the contact area and tighten to manufacturer torque.
