Front Door Lock Assembly for Toyota
This front door lock assembly is a key safety and comfort part. It keeps the door firmly closed while driving, and allows smooth locking/unlocking from the key, inner handle, or central locking system. 🚗🔒 A good lock also reduces rattles, wind noise, and prevents unwanted entry.
Why This Part Is Needed
Every time you shut the door, the latch grabs the striker and holds the door in the correct position. The internal springs and pawls control the “first click” and “full lock” stages, so the door stays secure even on rough roads.
How It Works
The mechanism uses a rotating claw and lock lever set. When you pull the handle or activate the actuator, it releases the latch so the door can open. When you close the door, it re-catches automatically and locks into place.
What Happens If It’s Broken
A worn or damaged unit may cause:
