This front left door locking unit is needed to securely latch the door and let the central locking system work smoothly. It combines a strong mechanical latch with an electric motor actuator, so the door can lock/unlock using the key, remote, or interior switch.
How it works ⚙️
When you press lock or unlock, the motor drives a small gear set that moves the internal linkage. That motion shifts the lock pawl and latch to either hold the door closed safely or release it when the handle is pulled. The design helps keep the door aligned, reduces rattles, and supports proper child-safety and anti-theft function.
What happens if it fails ?
