This rear tailgate hinge unit is the hardware that lets your tailgate open, close, and stay aligned like it should. It’s needed because the tailgate is heavy, and without a solid hinge point the panel will sag, bind, or slam, stressing the latch and the body edges.
How it works
The hinge mounts between the tailgate and the body side, creating a controlled pivot. Its pin and bush surfaces carry the load, keeping the tailgate square while allowing smooth movement. When correctly fitted, the gap lines stay even and the latch meets the striker without force.
