Hood Latch Assembly for Nissan
This hood locking unit keeps the bonnet firmly closed while you drive ?. It is a key safety part: without a strong latch, wind pressure and vibration can lift the hood and block your view.
Why this part is needed
The latch holds the hood in a fixed position and works together with the release cable/handle to let you open it for service. It also helps keep the hood aligned to reduce rattles and panel movement.
How it works
When you close the hood, the striker enters the latch and the internal pawl clicks into place. Pulling the cabin release moves the mechanism to unlock, then the safety catch prevents the hood from flying up until you release it by hand.
