Front Over-Fender Rubber Assembly ?
This front wheel-arch rubber trim is made to seal and protect the edge of the over-fender area. It is needed because the tire throws water, mud, sand, and stones directly at the fender lip. A good rubber seal keeps the body line tidy, reduces paint chipping, and helps stop dirt packing between the flare and the metal.
How It Works โ
The rubber sits along the front over-fender edge and acts like a flexible gasket. It absorbs vibration, follows the body curve, and creates a tight contact point so the flare doesnโt rub the paint. It also reduces rattles by cushioning the flare against the body during off-road flex and highway vibration.
If Itโs Worn or Broken โ ๏ธ
Cracked or missing rubber lets grit grind into the paint, leading to scratches and corrosion on the fender edge. You may notice wind noise, flap vibration, loose fitment, and mud buildup behind the flare. Left too long, the mounting area can rust, making future repairs more costly.
Why Technicians Replace It ?
- Restores tight flare fit and clean body gap
- Helps protect paint from stone impact and rubbing
- Reduces squeaks, rattles, and vibration
