Right Front Door Lock Actuator for Subaru
This electric actuator controls the passenger-side front door latch. It converts the signal from your key fob or interior switch into precise movement that locks or unlocks the latch. If your central locking clicks but the door stays shut, or you must pull the knob by hand, this unit is the usual suspect.
Why you need it
A healthy actuator keeps the door secure at speed, prevents accidental opening, and makes remote entry smooth. It also syncs with child safety and alarm functions, helping the immobilizer and security system work as designed.
How it works ⚙️
Inside is a compact DC motor, reduction gears, and a position lever. When powered, the motor drives the gears to push/pull the latch rod. Integrated microswitches report position to the body control module for proper timing.
Symptoms of failure ⚠️
- No response to key fob, only manual lock works
- Intermittent locking, especially in cold weather
- Loud buzzing or weak click from the door
- Door relocks immediately or won’t stay locked
Tech notes ✅
Plug-and-play fit with factory harness and latch. Reuse original rods and screws. Calibrate by cycling locks 3–5 times after install.
