    Shift & Select Lever Boot (No.1) ?️

    This gearbox lever boot is a small but critical seal fitted around the shift/select lever area. Its main job is to keep the cabin side and transmission tunnel protected from dust, sand, water splash, and hot air coming from underneath the vehicle. On 4x4 platforms, this protection is even more important because off-road dirt can quickly damage linkages and make shifting feel rough.

    How It Works ⚙️

    The boot is made from flexible rubber that moves with the lever while staying tightly seated in its frame. It forms a barrier that allows full lever travel, reduces vibration and noise, and helps maintain a clean, dry environment around the shifter mechanism. A good seal also helps prevent unwanted smells and fumes from entering the cabin.

    What Happens If It’s Broken ❗

    If the boot is torn, hardened, or loose, dirt and moisture can enter and cause sticky shifting, corrosion on joints, and faster wear of bushings. You may notice extra road noise, heat, and even exhaust odor in the cabin. In severe cases, contamination can lead to poor shift feel and costly linkage repairs.
