Left Steering Tie Rod End Assembly
This steering joint is a key link between your steering rack and the front wheel knuckle. It is needed to keep the wheel pointing where the driver commands, while still allowing the suspension to move up and down. When this part is healthy, steering stays sharp, stable, and predictable on straight roads and in corners ?.
How It Works
Inside the housing is a hardened ball-and-socket joint. As you turn the steering wheel, the rack pushes/pulls the rod, and the joint transfers that motion to the wheel. The joint also pivots smoothly to follow suspension travel, reducing stress on steering components and maintaining proper alignment.
What Happens If Itβs Worn or Broken
A loose joint can cause steering play, wandering, and uneven tire wear. You may hear knocking over bumps, feel vibration in the steering wheel, or notice the car pulling. If it fails completely, steering control can be lost and the wheel may no longer track correctlyβthis is a serious safety risk β οΈ.
Why Replace in Time
Replacing a worn tie rod end helps protect tires, improves handling, and allows accurate wheel alignment after installation.
