Steering Rack Bellows (Boot) for Hyundai/Kia

Why this part is needed

This flexible bellows seals the steering rack and inner tie rod from dust, water, and road salt. It keeps factory grease inside and protects the rack bar and seals. With a healthy boot, steering stays precise, quiet, and safe, and the rack lasts much longer.

How it works ️

The concertina gaiter expands and contracts as you turn left or right. It’s clamped to the rack housing on one side and the inner tie rod on the other. The folds allow full travel without stretching the rubber. OE-grade elastomer resists heat, ozone, and oil, so the boot flexes thousands of times without cracking.

What happens if it’s damaged ⚠️

Tears or hard cracks let grit and moisture in. Grease washes out, causing wear on the rack teeth and inner tie rod. You may hear knocking, feel stiff or notchy steering, see uneven tire wear, or find fluid seepage on hydraulic systems. Left unchecked, corrosion can destroy the rack, leading to costly replacement.

Tech tip βœ…

Always replace boots in pairs, inspect inner tie rods, set clamps correctly, and avoid twisting the gaiter. After fitting, verify free steering travel lock-to-lock.
