This unit provides smooth, low‑effort steering in city traffic and at parking speeds while keeping the wheel stable on the highway. It replaces a worn or noisy assist motor and restores factory steering feel, saves battery power, and keeps safety features responsive.
Why you need it ️
Over time, brushes, bearings, and gear reduction wear cause heavy steering, vibration, or intermittent assist. A fresh motor returns precise control, quiet operation, and predictable wheel return.
How it works
A compact brushless motor sits on the steering column, receiving torque‑sensor data and ECU commands via CAN. The built‑in inverter modulates current, adding assist torque through a reduction gear. Thermal and angle feedback protect the unit and keep assist linear.
If it fails ⚠️
Expect EPS warning light, heavy wheel effort, pulsing assist, clunks or whine, poor return‑to‑center, and stored DTCs. In severe cases assist cuts out mid‑turn—unsafe and tire‑wear prone.

Direct OEM fit with correct spline and mounts. After install, clear codes and run steering angle calibration; ensure battery over 12.4 V.
