Rear Shock Absorber Bushing (Mount Rubber)
This small rubber mount is a big deal for ride comfort and suspension safety ?. It sits at the rear shock attachment point and acts as a cushion between the shock absorber and the body/bracket. You need it to stop metal-to-metal contact, reduce vibration, and keep the shock aligned under load.
How It Works
When the wheel hits bumps, the shock absorber controls spring movement. The bushing compresses and flexes, absorbing harsh impacts and allowing controlled movement without loosening the mount. It also helps keep the shock centered so the piston works smoothly and the suspension stays quiet.
When Itβs Worn or Broken
A damaged bushing can cause clunking noises, rear-end rattles, uneven handling, and extra stress on the shock mount. In severe cases, the shock may shift in the bracket, leading to poor damping, faster shock failure, and unsafe stability during braking or cornering β οΈ.
