HVAC Fresh/Recirculation Flap Control Cable 🌬️
This OE-grade HVAC control cable links your dashboard lever or selector to the air inlet door inside the heater box. It switches between fresh-air and recirculation modes, keeping cabin airflow correct for cooling, heating, and defogging. A healthy cable improves AC efficiency, reduces odors and dust, and keeps the blower from working harder than needed.
Why this part is needed ❄️
Without a precise link to the inlet damper, the climate system can’t meter outside air. Correct positioning improves windshield clearing, stabilizes cabin temperature, and protects the evaporator from icing during heavy AC use.
How it works
A steel inner wire slides inside a low-friction sheath. Moving the cabin control pulls or pushes the cable, rotating the inlet flap to fresh or recirc. Molded end fittings snap into the HVAC lever and bracket, keeping the stroke accurate and quiet under vibration and heat.
What happens if it fails
- Stuck on recirc or fresh; weak defogging and foggy windows
- Hard or loose control feel; lever doesn’t “hold” position
