Air Inlet Damper Control Cable for Toyota HVAC

Why this cable is needed
This cable links the dashboard lever/knob to the inlet flap on the blower housing. It lets you choose fresh air or recirculation, which helps reduce odors, dust, and heat load, while improving heater and A/C efficiency.
How it works
A steel inner wire runs inside a coated sheath (Bowden design). When you slide or turn the control, the wire pulls/pushes the damper arm. The fixed sheath anchors the stroke, while formed end fittings lock into clips for accurate travel and door sealing.
What if it fails
Stiff, kinked, or frayed cable causes a hard-to-move control, stuck on fresh or recirc, weak defrost, foggy windows, and increased dust or odors. A seized cable can leave the door partly open, creating noise and poor HVAC performance.
Fitment and install tips
Plug-and-play: remove glove box, unclip both ends, route the new cable exactly as original, avoid sharp bends, and verify full door sweep. Lubricate the damper pivot with silicone grease. No coding or calibration needed.
