Heater Control Knob (Cabin Temperature Selector) ?
This interior HVAC control knob lets the driver quickly set heat level and airflow comfort without taking eyes off the road. It is needed because the heater box doors and control cables/actuators must be moved with the correct force and position—your fingers alone can’t grip the control shaft safely or accurately.
How It Works ⚙️
The knob mounts on the control panel shaft. When you rotate it, the internal shaft turns and transfers motion to the heater control mechanism (cable or blend-door actuator). Clear position stops help you select settings smoothly, while the tight fit prevents slipping and keeps the dial aligned.
What Happens If It’s Broken ❌
A cracked or loose knob may spin without moving the heater door, making temperature changes impossible. You may get stuck on full hot or cold, feel rough binding, or damage the control shaft over time. In worst cases, the panel can become hard to operate and distracting while driving.
