Differential Mount Insulator ?

This rubber-and-metal mount insulator is needed to support the rear differential and isolate vibration from the body. It keeps the driveline stable when you accelerate, brake, or shift load, so the vehicle feels smooth and controlled.

How it works ?

The insulator sits between the differential housing and the mounting bracket. Its elastic core absorbs torque twist and road shock, while the bonded sleeves hold alignment. This reduces noise, limits axle hop, and helps protect driveshaft joints and bushings from harsh impacts.

What happens if it’s worn or broken ⚠️

When the insulator cracks or separates, the differential can move too much. You may notice clunks on take-off, thumps during gear changes, driveline vibration, or a whining sound that gets worse under load. Left unfixed, it can stress the prop shaft, damage nearby mounts, and accelerate wear on CV/ujoints and bearings.

Common signs of failure

  • Rear-end clunking when accelerating
  • Vibration felt through the floor
  • Visible rubber splitting or sagging
  • Misaligned driveline after hard use
