Why you need it ⚙️
It blocks grit from entering the seal, reduces wear, stops oil leaks, and extends shock life. The result is a quieter cabin, stable handling, and consistent ride comfort.
How it works
A flexible bellows clips to the shock and upper mount. It expands and compresses with suspension travel, deflecting debris away from the polished rod, so the seal stays clean and tight.
If it’s damaged ❗
A torn or missing boot lets dirt score the rod, the seal fails, fluid leaks, and damping fades. You may feel knocks over bumps, longer braking distances, and uneven tire wear. Replacing the boot is low-cost; a new shock is not.
