Front Strut Top Mount Insulator for Rondo / Carens
This rubber‑metal mount sits at the top of the MacPherson strut, where the shock absorber meets the body tower. It cushions road impacts, keeps the strut centered, and reduces noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). With a healthy top mount, steering feels precise, tire wear is even, and the cabin stays quiet.
Why this part is needed ✅
Every bump sends force through the strut. The insulator spreads and absorbs that load so the body shell and bearings are protected. It also allows the strut to rotate smoothly when you steer, keeping alignment stable.
How it works ⚙️
A bonded rubber core with a metal carrier isolates vibration. A central sleeve supports the piston rod, while the mount locks into the strut tower. Together, it damps impact spikes and guides the strut during compression and rebound.
What happens if it’s worn or broken
Clunking over bumps, loose steering, pulling under braking, and cupped tires. You may see cracked rubber, torn bonding, or a sagging strut tower gap. Left unchecked, it can damage the strut, bearing, and spring seat, raising repair costs.
