Front Strut Top Insulator Assembly
This suspension insulator sits at the top of the strut and acts like a cushion between the strut mount and the vehicle body. It is needed to cut down vibration, soften sharp impacts from potholes, and keep the front suspension quiet and stable ?. A good insulator also helps the strut stay centered, so steering feels smooth and the car tracks straight.
How It Works
Inside the assembly, a tough rubber compound absorbs shock and isolates noise. When the strut moves up and down, the insulator flexes and prevents metal-to-metal contact. This reduces harshness, protects the mount area, and supports correct suspension geometry during braking and cornering.
What Happens If It’s Worn or Broken
If the insulator cracks, collapses, or separates, you may hear clunks over bumps, feel extra vibration in the cabin, and notice looser steering response.
