Front Strut Mount Insulator Assembly for SUV Suspension
This top mount insulator supports the strut at the body tower, isolates road shocks, and keeps the strut centered. It’s essential for quiet, precise steering and stable ride height. By cushioning metal-to-metal contact, it cuts vibration, prevents cabin noise, and protects the strut tower from fatigue. If your SUV knocks over bumps or wanders, this mount is often the culprit.
How it works ️
A durable rubber-elastomer pad is bonded to a steel plate and studs. It carries vehicle weight, absorbs impact loads, and maintains correct camber/caster position. An integrated thrust bearing (where equipped) lets the strut rotate smoothly with the steering, reducing friction and return-to-center effort. The result is tighter steering feel and longer tire life.
What happens when it fails ⚠️
Cracked or collapsed rubber causes clunking, popping when turning, steering bind, vibration at the wheel, and uneven tire wear. Alignment can drift, braking stability drops, and strut shaft or tower damage may follow. In severe cases, loss of control on rough roads is possible—replace at the first signs of noise or play.

Replace in pairs for even ride. Use new hardware, torque to spec, and perform a wheel alignment after installation.
