Front Inner Fender Shield (Wheelhouse Liner) ?οΈ
This body protection panel sits inside the front wheel arch and separates the tyre area from the engine bay and side body cavity. It is needed to block water spray, mud, stones, and road salt that would otherwise hit wiring, belts, pulleys, and metal seams. A good liner also reduces road noise and keeps airflow in the arch more stable.
How It Works βοΈ
The shield mounts to factory points with clips/screws and follows the curve of the wheelhouse. As the wheel spins, debris is deflected downward, while the panel keeps splash away from sensitive components and helps prevent dirt packing into corners where rust starts.
If Itβs Cracked or Missing ?
Driving with a broken liner can lead to constant water and grit blasting into the bay, faster corrosion on inner panels, damaged harness connectors, noisy wheel arches, and even rubbing on the tyre if the piece hangs loose. In heavy rain, splash can reach belts and sensors more easily, causing premature wear and annoying faults.
