    Why you need it ✅

    The latch holds the hood against wind pressure, road vibration, and body flex. It prevents panel flutter, protects the radiator area, and works with the safety catch to stop accidental opening.

    How it works

    A spring-loaded claw grips the striker on the hood. Pulling the cabin cable releases the primary catch; the secondary hook requires a hand lift for safe opening. Correct adjustment sets smooth closing and tight seal.

    When it’s failing ⚠️

    Hard pull, hood not staying shut, rattles, rusty mechanism, or misaligned latch. If it breaks, the bonnet can pop up, damage paint and hinges, or in worst cases obstruct vision—replace immediately.
