Rear Bumper Side Retainer (Right Side)
This small mounting piece is a key helper for keeping the rear bumper corner aligned with the body on the right-hand side. It provides a solid guide and locking point so the bumper cover sits tight, looks correct, and stays stable while driving. 🚗
Why this part is needed
The bumper cover is flexible plastic, so it needs firm support at the side edges. This retainer holds the bumper in the correct position, prevents edge lift, and keeps panel gaps even after minor bumps or regular vibration.
How it works
The bumper tabs slide into the retainer’s shaped channels/clips. Once seated, it locks the bumper corner against the quarter panel, helping the fasteners share load instead of tearing the bumper tabs. It also reduces rattles and wind flutter at speed.
What happens if it’s broken
If cracked or missing, the bumper corner can sag, pop out, or rub the body. You may see uneven gaps, annoying noise, and paint damage from vibration. In worse cases, the bumper edge can catch airflow and pull loose, stressing other clips and mounts. ⚠️
