This upper cab mounting cushion sits between the body/cab and its mounting point to absorb vibration, shock, and road harshness. It is needed to keep the cab stable, quiet, and correctly aligned with the chassis, especially on rough roads and under load.
How it works ✅
The cushion uses a dense rubber compound bonded to a shaped core to act like a controlled spring. It compresses under impact, then returns to shape, isolating the cab from frame movement. This helps protect brackets, bolts, and surrounding mounts from metal-to-metal contact and fatigue.
When it’s worn or broken ⚠️
A damaged mount cushion can cause clunks over bumps, extra cabin vibration, uneven cab height, and steering shake. Over time, it may stress nearby mount hardware, crack brackets, misalign panels, and increase noise.
